So, because I am off to Connecticut today to meet with the florist, I decided to share some of the floral designs (bouquets and centerpieces) that have inspired me lately! I’m not entirely sure yet what we want yet in terms of design (there are so many pretty looks that it’s hard to narrow it down), but I’m hoping that this meeting will help us shape our vision for the day!
I do, however, know I’ve been gravitating toward soft, romantic florals in light pinks, blushes, and whites. And I have fallen in love with cafe au lait dahlias, which I think are the flower I want featured throughout our day. Luckily, they are in season in the summer!
Every once in a while I like to take a spin class at Cyc (the only cardio I really enjoy doing)! My brother got me a giftcard of 5 classes for Christmas, which was the most awesome gift, and this morning the fiance and I both started our day off with a bright and early 7am class. After sweating our butts off, and already feeling like we had really accomplished something for the day (the perk of working out in the morning), we had time for a little breakfast date before work. Avocado toast is not a bad way to kick of the weekend! 🙂
We have lots of fun things planned for this weekend, including a meeting in Connecticut with our florist, and engagement pictures followed by brunch on Sunday morning! I’m looking forward to all of it. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
When you first get engaged, and realize just how much there is to plan for your wedding day, it can be a little overwhelming. Luckily, there are so, so many resources out there to help brides to be! My favorite by far has been The Knot, the king of all wedding planning and bridal information.
For Christmas, my mom bought me The Knot’s Book of Wedding Lists, which has turned out to be one of my favorite Christmas presents! It’s organized into chapters like The Reception, The Ceremony, The Menu, The Guests, The Wedding Party, The Flowers and Decor, The Photography and Videography, The Gown, and so on and so on. Each chapter is filled with list after list of considerations for your big day and questions to ask your vendors.
So one fun little perk to being engaged is that some stores host registry events where you can go and register (obviously) but also enjoy food, drinks, and prizes. Who even knew that was a thing!? As if shopping for gifts for yourself (that you don’t even have to spend your own money on!) wasn’t fun enough, add free food and some wedding swag into the mix and make it even better!
We were supposed to have our engagement photos done this morning, but instead Winter Storm Jonas decided to hit, dumping nearly 2 ft. of snow (so far) on NYC and shutting down the city. So instead we spent the day (mostly) inside, although we did have to get out a couple times just to see how much snow there was!
What I love about doing these towel workouts, is that you can just as easily do them at home (if you have a wood or tile floor that you can slide on) as you can at the gym! I also threw in a couple Bosu ball exercises at the end, but you don’t necessarily need one to do these exercises!

Yay, so I definitely have some wedding updates, and it feels like we are slowly, but surely, making some progress! We had a call with an officiant last week, and we are going to move forward and book him! And we have also found our photographer! 🙂 After a call with her on Saturday, she just confirmed our initial feelings about her, and we definitely want her there to capture our wedding day.
While it definitely feels stressful having to research all these different vendors, then reach out to them and compare both prices and what they offer, it feels so good when you finally settle on someone you are comfortable with.
