Easy Towel Workouts

What I love about doing these towel workouts, is that you can just as easily do them at home (if you have a wood or tile floor that you can slide on) as you can at the gym! I also threw in a couple Bosu ball exercises at the end, but you don’t necessarily need one to do these exercises!

Now that I’m trying to get in shape for the wedding, I’ve been trying to tone up and strength train. I absolutely love doing exercises that work my core (ok, maybe not when I’m in the middle of them), but I love the burn I feel afterward–and how I can already feel my abs getting stronger! Some of my favorite core exercises are so simple to do, yet so effective. Wedding Workouts

Now that I am getting married in 190 days, it’s time to kick up the workout routine a few notches! I generally hit the gym about 5 times a week consistently, but in the winter it’s so much harder for me to keep up the routine. It’s just so much easier to stay in a warm bed than to brave the frigid walk to the gym!

Anyway, I spend a lot of time on Instagram following various fitness accounts, and one name I see pop up over and over is Kayla Itsines and her #BBG (bikini body) guides. Now, I’m skeptical of any “at home,” workouts and also the fact that Kayla herself looks pretty skinny–not as muscular as some fitness personalities out there (though don’t be fooled, she is pretty badass). But I was curious to give it a try seeing the transformation photos posted by her followers.

The beginning of this year was tough. I was trying to leave a stressful job, and working hard to save extra money in case I had a gap in employment between jobs. I was also dealing with a hamstring injury. As a result of the stress and my body succumbing to injury, my gym routine suffered. At the beginning of the summer, I tried to slowly get back on track, and eventually decided to hire my super badass, incredibly fit, impressively toned, and sweetheart of a trainer, Natalie, at David Barton Gym who helped me jumps start things. I started my training the day after my birthday, in hopes of getting back on track for my 29th year.
